Actress and IOM Global Goodwill Ambassador America Ferrera visits IOM UK Office
Renowned television and film actress, social activist, and IOM Global Goodwill Ambassador, America Ferrera, visits the IOM UK London office.
America Ferrera was welcomed by the Chief of Mission of IOM UK, Christa Rottensteiner, and Director General & Senior Director for Partnerships, Catalina Devandas, along with IOM UK staff, as part of her mission to amplify migrants’ voices and stories, highlighting their extraordinary contributions to society.
America Ferrera is an Oscar-nominated and Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award-winning celebrated actress, director, and producer, known for her many iconic roles in TV and film including Ugly Betty, Real Women Have Curves, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Superstore, and most recently, the history-making Barbie, for which she garnered her first Academy Award nomination.
In May 2024, America Ferrera was announced as IOM’s new Global Goodwill Ambassador, joining Olympic champion and long-distance runner Sir Mo Farah as IOM’s first-ever Global Goodwill Ambassadors, as well as nine Regional and National Goodwill Ambassadors.
